RESHAPE, RELAX, REVITALISE BODY AND SPIRIT at CHILLSPACE…

Whether you are a high-powered businesswoman or a rushed-off-your-feet stay-at-home mum, you need some time just for yourself. At ChillSpace, you leave your worries (along with your shoes) at the welcoming front door.

Then enter the exquisite world of ChillSpace, established by American commercial photographer/owner Lisa Powers who defied all conventions by opening a fitness studio exclusively for women, situated near the top of Cashmere Hills.

ChillSpace is very special. Women drag themselves in after a day of saving other people’s you-know-whats, and walk out feeling renewed, fit and full of positive energy.

“There are frustrations, challenges, and worries in our lives every day. We can’t avoid being stressed, but we can balance our lives.” says Lisa, who realised the necessity for self-time to achieve calmness and fitness through gentle, effective workouts in a supportive environment.

For her, POWER PLATE® vibration training was the answer; she soon bought 3 machines and launched ChillSpace.

“The idea is to offer women an alternative to gyms by “isolating” them from their responsibilities and focus attention on themselves.” Lisa explains, and it’s easy to see why Lisa has built such a successful business in a short time.

Each client has a personalised programme carefully guided by “five-star” trainer, Michelle Vincent, or Lisa herself. A speedy 15-minute workout is available if time is an issue, but most clients opt for a full 25-minute session of no-impact positions, stretches, then ending with cellulite reducing massages.

Soothing music tinkles in the background as clients work out, and the antique Japanese décor is a further reminder that you’re in a special place. As you gaze on one of the most spectacular views over Christchurch city, out to Kaikoura and the Southern Alps, it’s a place you probably won’t want to leave.

“I receive great satisfaction and enjoyment when I hear comments of amazing results from our clients.” says trainer, Michelle, “We become very attached to them, and they seem to like the closeness, because they keep coming back and bringing friends.”

One of Lisa’s regular clients, Cindy, confirms this. Cindy says she could feel the results almost immediately. She says she approached ChillSpace because she wanted to lose weight, tone her bottom, thighs and stomach and for stress relief. “It has done all that and more. My whole body has become stronger. My netball passes are now power passes,” she jokes.

“What makes the POWER PLATE even more remarkable,” says Lisa,” is the fact that every woman can use it. Women with injuries, disabilities, obese women, elderly or teenagers –the POWER PLATE workout is ideal. It’s also great for new Mums who want to firm up their tummy but don’t have a lot of time.”

“Dogs are always welcome, too!” says Lisa, who’s an avid animal lover. “Several clients walk their dog to ChillSpace.”
